Update

Even though it's not Weight Watcher Wednesday today, I wanted to discuss my progress a little bit. I have to confess - I've been struggling for the last couple of months. I've definitely been getting my calorie burns in (gotta love those long runs:), but then I don't limit my calorie intake enough to be able to lose weight. I eat healthy, nutritious foods, but just too much of them. So, the scale has continued to linger around 8-10 lbs higher than when we got back from Thailand last July. And let me tell you, 8-10 lbs feels like about 30!

This week I finally decided that I've had enough of wearing the same pair of jeans over and over because they are the only ones that aren't ultra uncomfortable. So, I came up with some ideas to get back on track with counting my calories.

Side note: My ultimate goal is to not have to count calories or points, just to listen to my body to be able to maintain my weight. However, I currently feel that I need a little bit more guidance and structure to get things going, and figure out just how many calories/points my body needs to be able to lose. Lord willing I'll be able to slowly wean myself off of counting at some point in the future!

First, I bought a small journal for inspiration. Inside I use it as a food journal to keep track of what I've eaten throughout the day. I also use it for recipes, quotes, inspirational pictures, and anything else I may want to make note of. It's nice to have it all in one book rather than always jotting these things down on random pieces of paper. Plus, it's small enough to fit in my purse so I can take it anywhere! I love it, and it's been really helpful for me the last several days. I'll share with you one of the pictures I've included so far -

I just love this swimsuit. It's my favorite combination of vintage style and class! I'm hoping to try it on in a couple of months and find out that my curves only improve the cuteness:)

So, I just wanted to tell you all about my little black book of goodness, and how it's helped me in staying within my points, while eating the most delicious wholesome foods these past several days.

Also, I've been debating about this for a few weeks now, and I've finally decided to cut sugar out of my diet. I realize that many things have sugar as ingredients. My plan is to completely eliminate products such as ice cream, candy etc., and to eliminate to the best of my ability products that include sugar in the ingredient list. I did this last year for the last several months that we lived in Thailand, and it was one of the best things I've ever done for my body. It's going to be a challenge to stick with it again, but I know my body will thank me! Right now the plan is to go sugar free until our marathon (April 26), and then evaluate from there. I'll keep you updated!

I've gotta run...I'm meeting J at work so we can go see some houses with our realtor. I'm not too excited about any of them at this point, but you never know!

I'll try to give an update on how the weekend goes as far as staying within my points and of course the big 16 long ones we have planned for Saturday morning. Have a great weekend!

This was the perfect post for me right now. I'm not training for anything, but simply running leaves me so hungry. Like you its healthy foods, just too many/much. I've been making some changes too, including smaller meals and no snacking in between. I just have to eliminate things to get back on track sometimes.

I love that suit. You will look great in it! Oh, and we found a house we like this week during our searches. So exciting! I hope things are going well in your search.

That is a cute suit! I'm not usually one for ruffles, but it's just a touch of them around the edges there on the bottom and I adore them! -e

Sometimes I find that my body holds on to weight when I up my workouts and don't eat much. When you're burning so much, your body needs more otherwise it goes into "starvation" mode and hangs on. Good luck!

Whew, good job girl! :) I maintained last week, didn't work out one time :( and didn't journal my food intake either. I really believe that can make all the difference in the world! Thanks for inspiring me to get back on track with those things! :) I'm soooo close to my next "decade" of weight I can taste it...hopefully I can get there by this Friday's weigh in! :)
